It doesn't have to be all about snaps instead of claps

Soliloquies and sonnets

Shakespeare, Poe and Whitman

Iambic pentameter

It can be quick wit, Tiktok trends, basic bitches

Slang replaces jargon

Relatability replaces elitism

ART replaces 'art'

The many takeover the few

It's no longer about the cost of a pew

Not every poet has to feel blue

And you can have your choice of brew

So why not stay and listen to a poem or two?
